Umi's family consists of her father and mother. Umi comes from the upper crust of Tokyo's society. We first meet Umi's parents in Volume 2 as evil monsters that Umi has to fight in the Fountain of Eterna. Umi loves both her parents with all her heart, because the Fountain of Eterna is suppose to show your "beloved."

We finally meet Umi's true parents in Volume 4, when Umi's father tells her that "love is good." Umi comments in her head that her parents are always acting like newly-weds. At the end of Volume 6, they appear again to watch Umi go off to meet Hikaru and Fuu. Umi's mother comments that she hopes Umi finds a wonderful man like her own husband one day.
