Umi's mashin is known as Celes. As with Umi's assigned element of Water, Celes uses the same attacks and is a water based dragon.

First appearance in volume 2 Each Magic Knight must control a mashin to be true Magic Knights. Celes resides in his Water Shrine down below in the sea of Cephiro. Celes is a huge typical looking dragon except that he is blue and has two protruding wings on his side. He indicates to Umi that he is a Legendary Spirit that only a Magic Knight may touch. He asks Umi to present him proof that she is worthy to don him. "Show me your power...Present me the strength of heart worthy of a Magic Knight." Celes recognizes Umi's "strength of your feelings for your friends" and accepts this as proof.

mashin

First appearance in volume 3 When Umi is ready to don Celes, he appears as a mashin (something that looks like a robot/gundam). The spirit basically surrounds Umi and she controls Celes as though it is her own body. Mashin Celes resembles an upright blue dragon covered with blue metal plates. He also uses the same sword as Umi uses (except much larger).
