icera: owner of so magical
Just to get started, Icera is pronounced Ice + era or Ice-sera...it's a commonly asked question haha. I grew up during Disney's greatest animated movie era that included Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, etc. so it's really nice to dig back into the roots and bring some nostaglic Disney-ness to you. I've owned two very successful TCGs, including this one as well as worked at countless others. I also used to be quite the TCG-er, although it's died down over the years. It's just nice to run an organized and high-quality TCG for you all on a subject you may love too!If you want more personal information on me you can visit my weblog Digital-wing.com or my domain Icescape.net.
history
The textbook-styled history of So Magical.
So Magical was created in 2003 after the mad craze of TCG had just begun. I started first with my love Cephiro Collection, which was based soley on the manga Magic Knight Rayearth by CLAMP. CC is where most of my original ideas came from. I was an avid TCGer, and it really irked me how TCG owners didn't really keep track of cards or you really didn't know who was collecting what so I made sure that I tracked every single card and made sure that there was an even circulation. (I believe one of the biggest irks was when TCGs would give away the same exact card to everyone...so you neither could trade it nor want to collect it) I also invented the Deck Collecting on the members page to make it easier for traders to see who was collecting what. It was a very successful TCG, but was catered to a very small audience, only about 100 members. I decided to open up So Magical because of my love of only Disney animated films.
This TCG was a great hit. We had over 300 members. I used the same format as I did with CC. You can imagine how crazy it was with 300 members and having to email everyone their game cards and keeping track of circulation everyday. I also had to manually edit everything. From the old-school Bravenet password gates to a huge member list. In 2004, I decided to close down both TCGs due to a lack of time of having to update everything manually and moving on to college. There was no such thing as easy PHP scripts back in the day.
In 2006, I decided to open back up So Magical. I began working on the cards, but stopped after Elly asked for my help with Odango! a Pretty Guardian Sailormoon TCG, which has now closed. It's at this time that SCM also came back, yay! When summer rolled around, I again started working on So Magical We re-opened on November 1, 2007. With all the new fangled PHP scripts running around I will save a lot more time running the TCG and be able to bring back some Disney love to the TCG world.
